Capital, interest and power support for new manufacturing MSMEs in West Bengal
Banglashree for MSMEs (West Bengal)
The incentive scheme of the state's MSME and Textiles Department, notified on 22 July 2020 (No. 1543-MSMET). It covers units that start commercial production between 1 April 2019 and 31 March 2025, and says it stays in force till 31 March 2025 unless changed earlier. On 24 October 2026 we found no official extension or replacement: the department's notice list (up to 14 October 2026) and the state single window incentives page carry only the 2020 notification, and the Banglashree application site did not open for us. Press reports describe a West Bengal Incentive Scheme 2026 running from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2031, but no official notification could be found, so nothing from it is listed and this entry stays unconfirmed. The rates below are from the 2020 notification.
Micro, small and medium manufacturers in West Bengal that started commercial production between 1 April 2019 and 31 March 2025
- Capital subsidy for micro and small units in Zones C, D and E: 25, 40 and 60 per cent of fixed capital investment for micro units, and 15, 30 and 40 per cent for small units
- 20 per cent more on that capital subsidy for units wholly owned by women, SC, ST or minority community entrepreneurs
- Interest subsidy on a bank term loan for five years: 55 per cent of the annual interest for micro and small units in Zones A and B, and 70 per cent in Zones C, D and E. Medium units get 25 per cent, up to ₹1.75 crore a year
- Electricity duty waiver for five years for micro and small units: 50 per cent in Zones A and B, and 75 per cent in Zones C, D and E
- Power subsidy for five years: ₹1 a unit in Zones A and B, and ₹1.50 a unit in Zones C, D and E
- Udyog Aadhaar registration, as the notification names it (now Udyam)
- A manufacturing unit that started commercial production between 1 April 2019 and 31 March 2025
- A project approved before it was carried out, by the department, the District Industries Centre, MSME-DI or the bank financing it
- First application within 12 months of starting production, or of the notification, whichever is later
The 2020 notification says to apply in Form A to the General Manager of your District Industries Centre (or the Sub-DIC at Siliguri) after production starts. We could not confirm that Banglashree still takes applications, so ask the District Industries Centre which scheme applies to a unit starting now.
