Nobody knows what is actually available

Separate total, reserved, rejected, WIP and usable stock.

01 · What is usually happening?

The ERP says one number, the shelf says another, and some of the stock is already reserved for a job or is waiting for inspection. Asking "do we have it?" gets three different answers.

Decisions are made on the number someone trusts that day.

The question people usually ask“Do we have it?”
The more useful question“How much is usable and free today, after reserved, rejected and in-inspection stock?”

04 · What good looks like

lamp could keep this moving

lamp is not available yet. These are things it is being built to do.

  • lamp could show usable stock per item, not just the total.
  • lamp could flag items where the system and the last count disagree.
  • lamp could remind stores about receipts not yet entered.
  • lamp could suggest a weekly count list.
