Is my data safe? How lamp handles privacy and control
What lamp can see, what it can change, and who decides what gets sent. Plain answers for an owner who is thinking about connecting their records.
What lamp can see
lamp works from what you connect to it. That can be Tally, an ERP such as SAP, Zoho or Odoo, an Excel or Google Sheet, or photos of bills and registers that you send. It reads these to find what needs you today: who has not paid, which order is late, which material is running short.
It does not need access to everything. You choose what to connect, and you can start with one area and add more later.
What lamp can change
In your accounts and ERP, nothing. Connections are read-only. lamp reads from Tally or your ERP and never changes anything in them. Your existing records stay exactly as they are.
That means a wrong guess by lamp cannot spoil your books. The most it can do is prepare a message that you do not send.
Who decides what goes out
Nothing goes out without your OK. Every message lamp prepares comes to you first. You can send all of them with one tap, or open them and review them one by one. You can change the wording. You can say no.
lamp prepares the work. You decide what goes out.
Important decisions always come back to you. lamp does the work between your question and your yes. It does not take the decision away.
How your messages are protected
Messages are end-to-end encrypted, and your data stays with your business. If you want to know more about how data is handled, the trust and security page sets it out, and the privacy notice is linked at the foot of every page.
Staying in control over time
You set the limits. You decide how much work lamp does for your team, and you can pause it at any time.
You see what it did. In the examples we have shared, lamp tells you what it sent, who has read it, and when it will follow up. You are never left guessing.
You can see how this looks in a real flow in Getting paid on time.
Where it is still early
lamp can misread a message. A blurry photo, a short voice note or a mixed-language message can be read wrongly. This is one reason nothing goes out without your OK. When lamp is unsure, it asks.
The details of data handling are on the trust page, not here. We would rather point you to the page we keep up to date than repeat details in a post that may go out of date.
It is invite only. The next batch starts in November. Request an invite below and we will tell you when your batch opens.
