Why language matters on the floor
In many factories, the person who knows the most about a delay is not the person who writes the best English. A supervisor sends a voice note in Marathi. A store keeper types a line in Hindi with the part names in English. The owner replies in a mix of both.
Software that only works in one language leaves those people out. Then the information stays in their heads, and the owner is back to chasing it by phone.
What works today
lamp works in English, Hindi, Marathi and 7 more Indian languages.
You and your team talk to lamp the way you already talk on WhatsApp. That can be a photo, a voice note or a text. Nobody needs to learn a new way to write.
Names and numbers stay as they are. A customer name, a part number or an amount in ₹ is not changed because the message around it is in another language.
You can mix languages. Many people write Hindi and English in the same line. lamp reads mixed messages.
One short question when it is unsure
A message in two languages, a short voice note or a blurry photo can be read wrongly. When lamp is not sure what you meant, it does not guess. It asks one short question, and you answer in a word.
For example, if a voice note gives a quantity that could mean two things, lamp will ask which one you meant before it prepares anything.
Your OK still comes first
Whatever language a message arrives in, nothing goes out without your OK. Every message lamp prepares comes to you first, so a misunderstanding cannot reach your customer. You can read about this in Is my data safe?.
Where it is still early
Mixed-language messages can be misread. This is the hardest case. It is why lamp asks when it is unsure.
Some languages will be stronger than others. We have not measured every language equally, and we would rather say so than promise it.
